Black Angel Prophet V Reason ReFill

"a great collection" - ReasonFreaks

The Black Angel
Rediscover the legendary sound of the Prophet V! UPDATED VERSION AVAILABLE NOW! Features 101 NNXT programs and 102 REX2 files! Available FREE with new orders and at a small cost for previous purchasers of this ReFill! The Prophet 5 was made by Sequential Circuits, Inc. between 1977 and 1984. On it's release it was the World's leading polyphonic synthesizer, its sound was renowned and is still sought after today. It is still considered a masterpiece and still has a unique sound. This ReFill features hundreds of samples of sounds specifically created for this CD using a Prophet V - you won't find any of these sounds anywhere else. The resulting 550+ megs of data, a total of 1400+ samples, was then programmed into NN19 patches so every Reason user can experience the joy of owning a Prophet V in 2003 - virtually! Patches are typically created using 13 multisamples (C/F/A1-4 + C5) recorded at 24 bit, hiss reduced, normalised, and only then dithered to 16 bit. All sounds were recorded manually, one by one, so the recorded sound is very close to the original. As the Prophet V is mono you get twice as much sound as you would expect! NN19 Patches are divided up as follows: Bass (28), Dark Synthesis (8), Effects (20), GM Kits (2), Guitars (8), Keys (18), Pads (25), Synthesis (14) There are also 10 ReDrum kits inc. Clean, Dirty, Electric, Abnormal and more!
Format Info This ReFill contains simply NN19 patches of multisampled sounds that you can play. No sequences, hence no REX files. An update that will add some REX files and NNXT programs is due soon!

Dirty Ol' Relics Vintage Keys Reason ReFill

Dirty Ol’ Relics
Xenophonix presents...Dirty Ol' Relics...Greasy Hammonds, gritty Rhodes, and other fossilized keyboards from the crypt! Nostalgia isn't what it used to be. Once upon a time the instruments in this collection were revered as technological wonders, titans of musical prowess. It sometimes took several large men to carry them to and from your gig, and they often cost more in maintenance than their purchase price. Nowadays, we buy and sell instruments rapidly, change our software more often than our underwear, and generally regard few things as permanent, let alone classic. I believe there are a lot of musicians around today who have never seen a real Hammond B3 or played a Fender Suitcase, and probably don't even care to. But the sounds of these instruments still carry a vibe. We know the sounds from famous recordings, and those sounds are imbued with character from the music that was played on them. So, in our contemporary disposable way, we borrow, appropriate, and freely use and abuse those references. I don't think there is anything wrong with this; it's the natural progression of culture to undermine it's predecessors. The original blues riffs of Robert Johnson now find themselves in Underground Garage or a Madonna track. Brian Eno has pointed out that it's often the weaknesses of a system that lends it an appeal. Poor amplification technology gave us distorted guitars, for instance, or the cracking of a singer's voice gives an impression that the emotion is larger than the vehicle that carries it. Therefore, most of the instruments in this collection have been sampled in a very "honest" way, leaving the grit and grime that characterizes them in tact. There are a few suspect keys in some of the organs and electric pianos, which were flaws on the original instrument that I sampled. Anyway, in short, the idea of this collection is to put all of these standard, venerable antique keyboard instruments in one place for easy access. Hope you find it useful.
Instruments included in this collection: Accordion - Arp Solina String Machine - Clavinet - CS80 Brass Patches - DX7 Electric Piano - Fender Rhodes Electric Piano - Harpsichord (Double and Single stop) - Piano (Acoustic Stereo and Dance) - Organs : Hammond B3 (Five different stop settings), Casio, Pipe Organ Mellotron Strings and Choirs Mini Moog Wurlitzer Electric Piano
Some of the patches are very large. Four of the five Hammond patches for example, are in stereo and looped at the Leslie cycle, and include every note. Throughout the collection, the letters LM in a patch name indicate "Low Memory". For some of these very large instruments, this gives you an option in case you don't have enough RAM to load the instrument. The Low Memory versions are worth trying in these cases. Otherwise, stick to the large memory originals. Abuse freely, Mr. Xeno

Review Highlights "In conclusion, Sonic-O-Tool 2 is perhaps not going to set the Refill world alight, but those needing access to a very useable GM-style sound set via Reason need look no further. What the sounds might lack in originality, the CD makes up for in value for money — £30 is a steal. Now where did I put that 'Baby One More Time' MIDI file?" 5 star review from Sound On Sound!

Kick-Ass Brass! Reason ReFill

Kick-Ass Brass! - ReFill Version
You are about to discover the brass library we believe to be the highest quality and most relevant to modern music on the market today! In total this library comprises over 2000 samples and gives you the ultimate horn section for Reason! The library is based around the 4 key brass instruments used in modern horn section line ups: Bb Trumpet - (Taylor London Standard model) - Alto Sax - (Selmer super 80 II) - Tenor Sax - (Selmer super 80 II) - Trombone - (Conn 88h)
Having a choice of instruments allows the user to create a variety of brass arrangement styles. Funky JB horns would use the tenor, alto and bone to create a funky, reedy sound (3 piece). Modern soul horns would use trumpet, tenor and bone (3 piece). Fuller rock arrangements would sound best with all four. You pick the line-up you need for your track, you're in control! All the instruments have been pristinely recorded using a Neumann U89, Neve Pre-amp and edited in Protools. As any one instrument can produce an infinite amount of different sounds and dynamics, we have concentrated on capturing only the sounds you1ll need to faithfully reproduce a horn section. However there is probably enough choice of samples to attempt to program a sax or trumpet solo, with a bit of effort! There are an average of 17 different samples per note of each instrument, and we have sampled at least every tone (or semitone in somecases) of the full range of each instrument. Most of the programs are velocity switching. In the main program for each instrument there are 3 samples. MF, FF, and SLR or slurred notes. The SLR samples are in the medium velocity range. These samples may sound strange in isolation, but are to be slurred on to the end of the previous note. This allows you to run up a scale starting with a loud velocity and following with legato slurred notes (medium velocity) in quick succession. The effect is very realistic. If you try this with the saxes, you can hear the clicks of the keys being depressed. However if you start a new note or phrase with this type of sample it will sound odd as the natural attack part of the sound and breathyness will be missing.
